Forest Lake Christian School is committed to providing a quality Christian education where the Bible is the final authority for teaching and interpreting all subjects, actions, and philosophies. The Bible provides a unifying frame of reference for every subject and gives life and power to the whole curriculum. Christian education integrates spiritual truths into academic training and relates the Christian faith directly to all knowledge and to practical application of the knowledge in daily life. (II Timothy 3:15-17)
The source of this Christian world view is God's revelation to man in the Bible and in His creation. God's revelation demonstrates that He is the source of all truth (Psalm 119:160) and the creator of all things (Colossians 1:16); that Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the Saviour of mankind (John 3:16) in whom are hidden "All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3); and that man is a sinner who must be born again (John 3:7) and become a new person in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17).
Forest Lake Christian School teaches the students Christian truths which will provide principals for interpreting facts encountered in life and the study of all subject matter (Provers 9:10). Students discover that Christ is alive in the world today, that He has ordered science, directed history, and has blessed mankind with music and literature (Colossians 1:17). Each student should be instilled with the moral strength, spiritual insight, and academic integrity to live as a responsible citizen and an effective Christian (Ephesians 1:15-22).
The student attending Forest Lake Christian Shcool is considered to be a product of God's special creation, not progressive creation or organic evolution. According to Scripture, mankind is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Therefore the educational process endeavors to meet the needs of the whole student by encouragaing their spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical growth (I Timothy 4:6-8). Students are taught to recognize their body as the wonderful vehicle of the personality and the intended temple of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 6:19).
The authority for education is given by God to parents (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6). Parents are primarily responsible for teaching their children Christian values and skills necessary for a successful life. The Christian school, along with the church, becomes a partner in providing this education. Forest Lake Christian School desires to educate children of those parents concerned with their children's spiritual grwoth and character formations as well as academic attainment.
